Technological Innovation Center Gifu
- [Purpose]
- One of the research aims of the Technological Innovation Center GIFU is to support for advancement and diversification in the industry through collaborative research and personnel training, by focusing chiefly on developing strong yet light-weight materials for aircraft and automobile design.
- [Project Contents]
- The center provides resources and support for collaborative research in terms of (1)light-weight and strong panels / materials for aircraft and aoutmobiles;(2)medical instruments and devices; and
(3)environmentally friendly products.
- It also provides state of the art facilities (includes 40 different machines) for businesses to utilize when manufacturing or conducting product assessment.
- Emphasis is placed on providing training opportunities, including lectures, to develop knowledgable staff and graduate students.
- A collaboration of Industry, Academic Institutions and Government work together to propose, develop and plan research initiatives. It also analyzes the needs of enterprises and connects them with research learnings and outcomes derived from universities.
Plasma Center for Industrial Applications (Nagoya Science Park)
- [Purpose]
- Accelerating the application of plasma technolgies in industries and improving the quality of manufacturing technologies at small and medium-sized enterprises by leveraging different kinds of plasma equipment developed by the Knowledge Cluster Initiative.
- [Project Contents]

- Activities to promote broader use of plasma technologies (lectures, international symposiums, conferences, and research group workshops)
- Support for industrial applications of plasma technologies (technical consultation, use of equipment, joint research, contracted research, and aid of R&D expenses)
- Joint research conducted by universities,industries, and government (R&D for practical application using external funds)
Knowledge Hub (under construction)
- [Purpose]
- Link the results of research (primarily related to nanotechnology) conducted by universities and other institutions with technological innovations
in the manufacturing industry in order to improve the quality of existing industries and to establish industries that cater to the needs of the next generation.
- [Project Contents]

- Creation of a core joint research facility (the Leading Core Facility) and the Chubu Synchrotron Radiation Facility (tentative name)
- Research projects focused on addressing key industrial and social requirements
- Establishment of infrastructure for networking research equipment and human resources
