In recent years, rapid development of scientific technology, technological innovation, and changes in market needs have occurred, increasing uncertainty. In order to further strategic business successes in this situation, we need skilled individuals who can realize the essence of technology, manage it to earn profit, and understand both technology and management to promote business strategies. In the U.S., management of technology courses have been established in over 160 universities, and educate over 10,000 MOT graduates annually. However in Japan, we must admit to the shortage of such individuals and that the understanding of the need for these skills has not been widely appreciated. To address this situation, the Aichi Science and Technology Foundation has been conducting training to broaden the use of MOT since 2005.
